I just finished putting in some red bulbs behind my guages. They are on and they are red. It's not dark enough yet to see what they really look like. From what I can tell, I'm worried I might just end up with pink guages. That would suck. Can anyone else who has done this tell me if I just gave my car pink guages?

When you do get to see it in the dark, post a picture for us on the bbs and we'll be the judge!

Good luck.

I put in blue bulbs

And within three weeks, I started noticing that they were fading. And after about a month, one was pink (don't know how that happened) and the rest were almost white, with no hint of blue.

Yesterday I swapped my stock lights back in and wow, they're so much brighter. Yeah, the lights look cool for about a week or two, then you'll start to notice that they're fading and then you'll have to change them back... or find new bulbs.

That's my opinion.

The reason they fade is it's just painted glass....

To get ones that don't fade, you have to find bulbs with colored glass, instead of simple clear bulbs painted. They are the only ones that don't fade.

Ok ok. I went up and checked them out in a parking deck. They are definitely red. No pink about it. I guess now I'll just see how long they last.

I just wanted to say what I did to my guage lights. I got bored one day and changed the stock bulbs to make all of my guages orange except for the speedo. It looks great and they haven't faded at all for over a month. For christmas I am getting white guages so I will change the lights to blue probably. But seriously, if you are interested in changing your lights I recommend you do all orange except for the speedo which I left stock...I have gotten a lot of compliments and I love the way it looks.
