Looking for a fuel door

I know this is a random part.. lol.. but mine seems to have warped in some way and now doesnt close correctly.. so i just bent the hell out of it to make it work for now, but it looks really ugly.. anybody have a fuel door for a 2000-2001 max? i think it's sterling mist?? (that greyish, tanish color)

*side-note: stealer quoted me over $200 for the door and painting.. needless to say, that quote is now far up the @$$ of nissan

Strangely enough, I have the same problem with my fuel door! Warped and it sticks out like a ****, I too have bent it every which way to work for now! Sometimes it won't even open when I push the release button and I have to stick a key between the fuel door and quarter panet to pry it open! So annoying but hoping to get it fixed one day! Good luck!

you know what you can do? if you have a passenger in the car, have them hold the button while u pry it open.. much easier.. looks ghetto as hell, but it works.. lol

best bet would be a junkyard. try car-part.com or other, i bet you can get one matching color off there. its not like there are a lot of these floating around on here, most of the cars here still drive

LOL seems like I'm the lucky one here.. I had that problem too..

but I took it easy and used a pair of vice grips 2 sorta "crimp" the hinge in..

the reason y it stuck out was because of the hinge being a little stiff so throughout the years it bent out..

with a little patience and bending little by little.. now its perfectly flush and pops better than ever..

at the cost of a little scratch but oh well lol good luck with evry1 else!

same issue here. top part of the the inside hinge rusted off and i have to push on the "back" part the door, near the hinges, to open it. tried the key method but don't want to scratch any paint. looking for a '02 Super Black door.... PM Me. Thanks.

It's very odd, but my 2001 Maxima has the same problem. The door never has a problem opening, but it does stick out a little from being warped. I wonder what causes that. Very odd indeed. ... and I thought I was the only one with a messed up fuel door. HAHA
