I did not experience any problems with the CD player, however I was getting the driver side speaker cutout.

No, it was very random (once every few weeks) and only with CDs.

I have a 02 Se with the Clarion Head Unit. With this unit just drop in or do I need to retrofit all the rest of the speakers, etc??

SE came with the Bose amp so assuming you have the OEM wiring still in place it should drop in place.

This Bose HU will not work with a non-Bose car. Just a heads up.

Sorry about that, I had thought Bose came standard in the SE. I had to pull up the window sticker to find it was a $1099.00 option.

Yessir, you are correct. The reason, is that the cars with Bose are wired with a completely different harness than those without Bose. The audio system (and wiring) are different and are not interchangeable.

Is that the reason you decided to part with it cuz I'm not too sure about buying something thats going to progressively get worse.

No, the main reason was that I wanted navigation and integration of my Ipod (outside of utilizing the tape deck). There is a thread in the 5th Gen forum on how to fix the problem as well as a replacement cable.

Oh shoot so I guess I will just have to go aftermarket on the stereo then because I believe the one I purchased did not have the Bose in it

My HU did the same cut out thing, and it skipped often with CD's... I had to get it fixed for 200 bucks.
