WTB: 2000 Bose headunit or harness to allow after mkt receiver with bose speakers.

Hello, my 2000's Bose headunit is absolutely dead. I need either a new one on the cheap (I see some on Ebay) or an adapter to allow an after-market receiver to tap into the existing speakers.

Thanks!

EDIT: I went with a new HU and free accessories from Crutchfield.

I understand they have an amp for each one (each speaker) because the normal headunit is a pre-amp. Would this speaker-level converter be for each speaker and would I use the amplification from the new receiver, completely skipping the existing amps?

Thanks, btw!

Though this information is correct, it is the most expensive route to go. Please read the stickies in the audio forum. All you need is a cheap pair of RCA's that you splice in. That section is where you will get proper information regarding this issue.

I did read a bunch and determined that a new HU from crutchfield was the ticket. I got one with 4 volt pre-amp to help avoid any problems I read about low voltage. $130 or more from crutch comes with all of the harnesses and what not for free, too.

Make sure they include Metra 70-7551, the factory amp integration kit. It takes the low level RCA signals from the aftermarket HU and sends them through your factory wiring to your factory amp to be amplified.
