Low milage Cattman modified AGX to fit 00-03 Maximas, less than 4K miles, switched to Illuminas, these are in great shape use with modified 5th Gen upper strut mounts only, they offer a tighter fit to the strut shaft than the 4th gen upper strut mounts.... paid $475.00 asking $325.00

 

why are you trading these in for illuminas? do you really think they are that much of an upgrade?.. bump for a good deal!

 

What do you mean? The Illuminas were designed specifically for the 00-03 and weren't modified as the AGX were by Cattman Performance. The Illuminas are a better riding strut when incorporated with the Progress Technology sport Springs. I like the way the Illuminas ride...matter of fact the Illuminas/Progress ride better than stock SE. I like how they behave/respond to bumps better than stock SE and the AGX. The Progress springs installed with the AGX are 4th gen Maxima springs as is the entire setup. The upper strut mount for the 4th gen Maximas are very thin and tend to round off easy in the "D" shaped hole, while the 5th gens are modified (sold by Cattman) and fit really nice and snug. The Progress which were teal colored at the time had more coils with less room between them than the newer revised editions (charcoal grey) and had a tendency to coil bind when set on 1 or 2 on the front struts. Please if you use this setup cut your dustboot/bumpstops in 1/2 to prevent bottoming out on the bumpstops since you have very little room for travel. It was a little more taunt than the Illuminas and my wife drive this car more than I do and she wasn't liking the harsher ride. So I changed to Illuminas/revised 5th Gen Progress springs and she's cool with it now for the last 14 months!
