FS: Custom Garmin 270 Ashtray install for AT bezel

thumbnail to click

It is a Garmin 270, only fits 5th gens w auto trans. Comes as seen with buttons, everything works like new, screen is clean and comes with a protective film installed. It just got a fresh coat of paint and has been totally revamped since original build. Serious buyers should read my thread introducing this mod to learn more specifics about it and how it performs.

Unit also comes with cigarette DC adapter. You only need to buy your own extra DC socket from ebay for $5.00 and hardwire it in behind the socket.
I Will also send software for additional garmin voices of Family guy's Stewie, South parks Cartman, The devil, or a sexy sloot telling you to "keep going..."

$100 plus shipping for this one of a kind Garmin!! Money back guarantee.

Reason that I am selling this is because I have almost finished my new garmin project located in the Right, center console vent. Heres a preview (not finished)

I separated the open/close flap that the **** on the front controls and permanently glued it closed which prevents air flow from reaching the garmin. Yes i bet there will still be heat/cold reaching the garmin, but I doubt it will have much affect. Most other garmins sit on peoples dashboards in the sun and cars get VERY cold at night in the winter. I think garmin makes a pretty good product. This new unit isnt as permanent as the other one. I should be able to swap them out if i ever have a problem

Yes, The garmin is built into (bondo) the ashtray. So the trim panel that goes from under the HVAC and around the stick shifter comes with it / IS IT. It also comes with the USB cable --> Cigarette lighter cord. The only other part you would need to buy is an accessory additional cigarette socket which you can hardwire into your existing socket behind the trim panel.

interesting, question on the location, i take you dont actually look at when driving? seems like it would be a distraction sitting that low

Amazingly the sound plays loudly out the back of the console, So when i hear that something is going on, i can look down and see where i have to go. So yes i do look at it, as if i were looking at my HVAC or radio or phone or anything else. Its not so much a distraction as a brief diversion of attention.

I created version 2.0 in the vent cluster because it was easier to type in addresses and yes it is more in my general field of view while driving. Unfortunately the unit is not as loud as the one in the ashtray

is there anyway to completley turn off the sound? idc for it. I just would like the idea of having a gps that looks clean cut like that in my max.

Yes, under the volume control you can mute the sound. But if you are requesting directions from the garmin to get somewhere specifically, im pretty sure you are going to want to hear where you are going and when. The unit does not speak as you are driving around freely...

Im pretty positive the digital climate doesnt affect anything, i cant see nissan making separate shifter trims for the climate controls. I will guarantee fitment.

That whole piece of trim with the garmin in it pops out pretty easy with a cloth covered flathead screwdriver. I left access to the usb port on the back. Also the. on off button is accessible if necessary to reset the unit.

dude i just decided that bc ive bs you around back and forth...but enough is enough. thanks for putting a extra enlarged photo too, its very nice you just got me SOLD on it. I was thinking of just buying a garmin from bestbuy (3.5in) and just mounting it in their and saying f my ash tray...but i need my ash tray and I would've done it DIY on the cheap cheap..but it would'nt be clean sleek look that just looks flush... it just looks SICK...not even that I need navi/garmin but it could'nt hurt....so if you can do 120 shipped. PM me back no games no bs..just drop me you're paypal and ill have your money to you asap lmk man. Thanks.

side note-----> the color scheme is brownish/beiege scheme correct?? I know we had this discussion before but I cannot remember.

It goes with a frost grey interior... The piece itself is grey in color... if your center piece is remotely grey (and not tan or brown) then this is the color for you. Will not do $120. You have my email, please continue to use it as you have for the past 3 months.
