from nycmaxima.org
It has 81k on it and can provide you w/ the vin # upon request so you can verify the mileage, that its not stolen, etc by running a car-fax report. Drained the fluid and it looked very rich, no metal shavings, no bronze tint to it from the from worn-out synchros ect. Price is $1300 for the below listed items:
- 6spd hlsd tranny
- shifter assembly
- shifer cables
- shifer cable bracket
- oem dual mass flywheel
- oem clutch
- flywheel bolts
You'll need other parts to complete a 6spd swap such as axles, starter ect.
Pick-up only in westchester/Yonker, BX , and Queens.
I also have another 5.5gen 6 SPD HLSD tranny W/ less than 35K on it, but it's on my car right now that i drive around daily but if you give me a deposit i can drop it out and it can be your for $1300

Hey, thanks for looking out. Right now, there is a $1100 transmission in my area, and I think that's well over my budget, so $1300 in Queens is not an option.
I'm hoping that I can find something for much less, like in the $500 zone, give or take. I'm used to Nissan transmissions buying and selling in the $300 zone. I understand this is a lot more rare, but no one can afford that much for a trans.
Anyway, I appreciate the help and if anyone has any other connections, let me know. I would like to get my car back on the road.

i can't read sr20 forums. so idk what the link says.. but what do you want it for.. if you have the spec v trannny.. cant you just buy a maxima bell housing and swap the internals? or am i mistaken?

Since the link's not valid, here's a rundown:
-VQ35 swapped sentra, 6 speed, Engine/trans combo has run good for 4 years, now.
-Last Feb, misshift, blew out the side of the gear casing.
-Picked up a new gear casing for $75.
-After it was all together, the gears still hummed.
-over the course of a year, humming became grinding became clunking and I pretty much the transmission became toast.
-Picked up a free 6-speed SpecV trans from a local friend, I intended to do the bellhousing trick.
-after closer inspection, original bellhousing is junk, everything past the clutch was scrap metal.
-The debate is, I could either buy a new bellhousing and frankenstein the SpecV trans, like you mentioned, or just find a new Max trans with HLSD.
Currently, I feel safer getting the complete trans and selling the V trans. Less chance of error, less time involved, no shimming, and depending on price, selling the SpecV trans and buying a Maxima trans would probably be less money out of my pocket.

really? i'm looking to do the same spec-v in the max bellhousing.. and from what I've found.. 6spd max hlsd is far and few to come by.. and when you do its high mileage and in excess of $1k.. from my research the only difference I found with the sentra gears is the FD...
my opinion is its a hell of a lot cheaper to just buy the maxima housing.. and i don't see you making any sacrifices from not getting the full max tranny

Well, here's the case so far.
I absolutely need LSD. I can't imagine putting down that power in such a light car with an open diff, I'll probably die. If I can find a Maxima tranny for a decent price (and I still have some connections to see what comes), I would prefer that option. At the very least, I could sell the SpecV tranny and recoup about $400 or so.
If I go with the bellhousing option, I obviously can't recoupe any of the cost (the bellhousing is still pretty expensive). The main problem I have is that I simply don't have the tools to measure and shim the gearstacks, nor the pulleys to get the bearings in and out. I have to remove and install the checkballs in proper order, these transmissions don't come apart like the SR20 transmissions I'm used to.
Anyway, I'm still keeping my eye open for the Maxima HLSD transmission, Worse comes to worse, I'll just get the bellhousing and pray I can find a local with the right tools.
