I don't think this will fit 02-03 models since overdrive is chosen via the button. I think 5.5 gens use a selected on the actual console to select whether overdrive is or isn't engaged. I could be wrong, maybe someone else could chime in with the correct info.

What other shifter assembly are you talking about? Like the console? All I have is the shifter that would be swapped with the ugly stock auto shifter. Pretty easy swap, had it in my girls auto max. She didn't like it for some reason though. As you can see, both wires for electronically selecting overdrive on/off are still intact. The part out I have posted is a 5 speed so, I do not have any other automatic parts. I do have everything needed for a 5 speed swap though😀

I was reading that this was not an easy swap without the actual shifter console from the ae is this just as easy as removing the original and replacing it with this one?

Two screws holding shifter on. Two wires under the console. I took this shifter off a junkyard car with some screwdrivers in 5 minutes. Installing it would be reverse of removal. 15 minute swap.

Console on A/E and regular models are exactly the same. Shifter **** is the only difference. It was a while ago that I was at the junk yard but, I might see if the A/E is still there and grab the chrome door sills. You interested in buying those? Unfortunately the body kit was severely damaged otherwise I'd have taken that also.
