Anyone get compensated for paint chips?

My Majestic Blue '02 is chipping WAY to much. I have been rejected by the dealer... They suggested that I call Nissan. Has anyone ever had any luck with Nissan concerning their paint? If they refuse to remedy this... I may go talk to a lawyer.... I'm P!ssed at Nissan!!

yes..

Nissan has repainted a few hoods/front caps of .orgers here.

They are about to repaint my rear arch for chipping clear. I know they will do a half a$$ job so I've been putting it off since I got the green light.

Yes, call... insist on a paint inspector. He has ways of testing the paint. Like on mine, he pulled out some tape and started lifting off clear coat. I really almost loaded my levis. I knew it was whack, but I didnt need to see that!

He can check the thickness and if its overly soft or brittle.

btw...

on paint, its not the dealer that rejects the claim. thats not how paint works. They simply schedule you will the inspector after seeing the problem area. He has to make regular rounds to all the dealers.. once every month or so.

Dont let them tell you that you cant see the inspector. its really not their thing to decide.

sueing nissan...

God doesnt have enough money to sue Nissan no really, some .orgers have said they really fight in arbitration. they supposedly fly in engineers and the whole thing for one little guy that has a beef with something. You'd think it would be cheaper to just buy the car back and give them another.. nope..

Thats smart of nissan. It costs less to make a big deal a few times and deter people from challanging them in court/arbitration. As opposed to having to face a lot of cases, and possibly lose a few, b/c people think they have a chance. Sounds like what street gangs do.

I was just contemplating going to see the dealer, but didnt feel like putting up with the bull chit it takes to actually get it fixed. 28 k miles and the front grille/hood looks like its been sandblasted on purpose

Guess I'll just go there and then call Nissan after they piis me off

So who are we calling? 1-800 number or our dealer?
