Stock 2k2 6spd FWHP

Did anyone put their 2k2 6spd on a dyno BEFORE any mods? I'm going to put mine on a dyno tomorrow, but have already done a CAI, and I'd like to know what I got for gains.

I read that you can usually assume a 17% difference, so your hp would be around 211......

The reason I ask is because I've seen it range from 15% - 20%, and this may discredit the CAI if I bank on 17% and my dyno only comes in at 215hp, because I should have assumed a 20% loss...

just say 205 FWHP as your base #

that's close enough to what most people were getting

how could that be possible?

how could a 4-cylinder 157 HP toyota camery out accelerate a 255 HP nissan maxima? 149-HP 4-cylinder hyundai sonata, 5-HP 4-cylinder engine subaru lagacy, 135-HP 4-cylinder engine honda accord? i know the maxima isnt the best car in the word but when you're comparing the 0-60 of the cars i dont see how those cars out perform the 255 HP maxima or even the 200 HP grand prix.

200-205 FWHP is norm. Different dynoes and different cars can change #'s atleast 5 HP.

a) most of those are from automatics. but that still wouldnt make much of a difference.
b) that who entire page is about 2002 year models. if you click on the maxima it even says 255 HP. it would still be no contest if it were a 2001 maxima.

i know no one can truely answer why. i just brought it up because it doesnt make sense to me.

True, the page clicks to the 2002 maxima, HOWEVER, the tests were probably done on the 2000 model year. Carpoint doesn't update their links the way you think. I know for a fact that the 2k2 maxima does 0-60 way quicker than 7.9secs.

ahhhhh. this makes a lot more sense now. at the top it says "Note: The rankings shown apply to base models, unless otherwise specified. "
so i was thinking all of those numbers (i.e. 7.9, 8.5, 9.9) were rankings on a scale from 1-10. i was thinking the maxima received a 7.9 out of 10.

so it makes more sense to me now. but yeah....like you said....the maxima is definitely faster than 7.9 seconds. that might even been from a 99 maxima.

About halfway down the first page, I list a pile of runs that I did without the intake/ with the intake. Everything that I've seen on DynoJet dynos seems to point to 205FWHP being the norm with a stock 2k2 6spd.
