For those of you who got H & R wheel spacers, how effective are they and do they vibrate at high speed? I need some info...help would be appreciated.

 

I only have the small ones which don't require that you replace your studs (like 5mm). However, these things are top-notch. They are actually hub-centric, so they mount on the actual hub portion. I had some ghetto pep boy universal ones that really stunk it up (still in a pile in my garage).

There is no comparison when it comes to spacers. H&R function flawlessly, the other like crap. I needed them after I put on my Willwood Big Brake Kit in order to clear my rims. Rims are kinda unique design (Akuza Sublimes) which have a lip, chrome, etc.

H&R Spacers are expensive but worth it.

 

Thanks for replying. The reason i wanna know is, because i'm debating wheather to sell my OEM 17 X 7 or use H & R wheel spacers to push them out a little if it worth it.

I've always thought that the rear wheels would look good pushed out an inch or so. The front wheels are nicely lined up with the fender wall, but the rear wheels are buried into the fender a bit.

 

I use the spacers also. They are very nice and they helped me with my two issues.

1st: they helped me push the rim far enough out to clear the brakes.
2nd: Being hubcentric, they took my wheel wobble (from non-hubcentric spacers) down to nothing.

I got the wife's "new" '00 Maxima cleaned up inside and out and it is looking really sweet (the previous owner kept the exterior looking really good, but the interior is another story. How the hell does one get Coke stains on the headliner?!. I've got the H&R springs on order and should be here later in the week. Can't wait to get them put on! Thanks again for your help a few days ago...

I agree with your comment about the rear wheels...I'm also considering the H&R spacers now. It's a never-ending battle. And it's not even MY CAR!!

oh yeah.. for all you that are planning to drop your car to the ground, you might want to roll your fenders in if you get wheel spacers, the tires might rub in the back.. it happens to alot of ppl, especially when there's 3 full sized adults sitting in the back.

 

1) Prolly a HUGE speed bump
2) Drinking and/or eating in a 5th Gen Maxima?! Never again in my car!

I use the H&R wheel spacers to clear my calipers as well. Work great. No issues. I hear they were imported from Germany. Who knows if that's true. I don't care anyway, as long as they work (which they do).

What sizes do they come in? Is it 5mm then 10 then 15. or are there in between sizes?

 

I don't think there are in between sizes but don't quote me on it.

Just got off the horn with ecstuning.com (great bunch of folks, by the way; very helpful). Anyway, Brian there said for our cars, the sizes are 5mm ($65), 15mm ($109), 20mm ($115), and 25mm ($135). They also come with the extended lugs, sounds like a sweet deal.

Now I just gotta convince the wife--THAT'S THE HARD PART.

I wish I could post a d@mn pic of my '00 Maxima SE, but this forum won't allow anything over 50k pic sizes. I even have a personal website which I tried to host a link from, but that doesn't work either. The BMW forum that I also belong to let's you post pics all day long without any limits.

If anybody has any tips or advice on attaching pics, that'd be great. The search I did earlier didn't produce any helpful advice either...

 

No 10 mm spacers, I already tried that.

I got a pair of 15mm spacers if anybody wants to buy them.
I tried to make them work on a pair of rims I got.
Long story short...I got rid of the rims, got some Evo-5's, which are 8" wide, and I can't use the 15mm spacers.

The spacers were only put on the car to see if they would work with the other rims. They didn't, so they were taken off immediately. They never saw any miles.
I believe they are $130 at H&R.
How about $125 shipped???

 

Before I get flamed for the $125 price...( I was going off H&R's website, and what I paid for them).
I read above that a local speedshop was selling them for $109.
How about $110 shipped???

 

I have 15 mm on 17x8 wheels for racing. I don't use them for my street 17x9 O.Z. F1 Plus wheels as the offset is big enough.

Anybody got close up pics of 15mm or 20mm H&R spacers on 17" stock rims?

 

anybody think we can get a group deal on these?? seems like a decent amount of interest.

 

I purchased the 5mm spacers from H&R and discovered at the time that they were not big enough. So, I took them to my friends machine shop. For $20 he made me some 10mm spacers out of aluminum/hybrid type material. They worked like a charm. Sure beats the 100 I paid for the H&R spacers. Now I just need to figure out what to do with them. They are nice coasters at the moment.

 

There's only about three of us here who may be serious about actually buying them, so I'll post a new thread in our forum and the "General" forum as well. I'll keep a tally, and if there are at least ten, I'll call ecstuning.com again and see what they say.

With that said, look for my posts and place your vote, ONLY if you're serious. Thanks, and maybe we can get our rear wheels pushed out for a great price!

does anyone with spacers from h&r know what size studs fit the maxima... the website said that they can come with 2 sizes...

"The wheel spacers shown in the catalog will be supplied with shoulder bolts D=14.15. If you need D=12.85, please add a "1" at the end of the part number."

Just spoke to the guys at www.ecstuning.com Tom, Brians brother. he stated that you have to bang out one of the studs and measure the length to determine which bolt size you will need. The guide to measure it is on his site. If anyone knows please let us know. It could be either one from what he said. If this info is correct fine if not lets have it. Thanks 14 or 12

 

So if you don't have factory rims you are taking a chance with weather or not the spacers will fit your car. I have 18" wheel with the same offset as factory 17" wheels will I have to worry about the spacers not fitting?

 

anyone figure out the shoulder length yet? sorry for diggin up this old relic, but I need to order the spacer kit my self and need an naswer asap.

I use the 5mm on the front wheels and the 20mm on the rear wheels. The look is great. I like the Titanium Edition wheels I have and the spacers push them out just far enough to look great. I got mine from www.ecstuning.com.
