CD storage Question

I'm wondering what .org members use to store their cd's in the Max.

I noticed in the altima, there is a deep compartment under the radio to store cds. I've given up using the visor mounted sleeve for two reasons.
1. Hard to keep your eyes on the road choosing a cd (and they only hold about 5 anyway)
2. my last cars sun visor constantly sagged from the weight of the CDs over time.

I've been using a cd spindle in armrest compartment (from 50 pack CD-Rs) to store my 25 cd's I like to keep on hand.

Any creative ideas out there?

I store them in the 6 disc in-dash changer. Also on a sun visor I carried over from my old car. It's currently sitting on the floor, b/c I'm too lazy to put it on...

Me too. I always feel bad for wasting so many CD-R's!

Now that I'd like to see! I just throw mine in my case and toss it in the back, usually on the passenger side floor...seems to work. I wish they made the armrest bigger (deeper). That upper section is pretty useless. I keep a pen, some visine, and a knife there..oh and some napkins.

I agree with 2KSEgirl. Check out Case Logic's products. They make quite a variety of CD cases that protects the CD, from visor mounts to bulk storage, from soft to hard sided cases.

My music CD collection is currently in a couple of 264 CD binders, which is really only 132 if you keep the liners with the CD's. (I keep the jewel cases, but don't store the CD's in 'em. The binders take up 20% of the space jewel cases take up.)

In the car (when I'm on the road) I use this 20 CD carrier that I can just wedge between the console and the passanger seat. I change those CD's from a larger collection at night in the hotel.

(I also use 'em to store my data CD-R(W)'s and my DVD-R(W)'s.)

No vested interest, just a happy customer.

http://www.caselogic.com (But I usually just buy 'em at Best Buy... )

Actually, that's a pretty cool feature. I keep my gas log there. (Spiral bound 3x5 index cards...)

And to my passangers, it's a magic trick. Lift it once, it's a shallow holder, lift it again, and it's deep! Whazzah!

A friend of mine knew I kept my gas log there, so she lifted the armrest to get to it, and there was this other compartment...

Re: CD storage Question

6 in the dash and 10 on the passenger side visor. My visor thing holds 10 and is easy to get to... and after a while, just like the CDs in the dash, I got to remember which CD is where. Comes in handy as they're all just plain silver with some red pen on them

What would be great

is a nice hard plastic box that I could shove down in the center console with the slit facing upright, with the slit just wide enough to fit a cd, no case. I keep looking for one that would hold about 10 to 15 cd's to no avail. And it would be even greater if each slit had a thin felt lining or similar on each side to not scratch the cd's.
