Susp. Compression/rebound

I have a 2k GXE and I think that the shocks/struts are not properly setup for this car.I think the car rebounds too quickly on small to medium size hits. It seems to do well on big stuff - speedbumps, huge potholes, but on expansion cracks and small holes it jacks back - soes anyone else experience this??

I have a 2k SE and find the stock front shoks OK but the rears haven't had enough rebound damping since new, now they're getting worse at 30k. I think it may be a compromise to accomodate the limited rear travel. I recently drove a 2k2 SE and the rear was even worse. Too bad AGX's arent available yet - I'd have changed the rears a month after I got the car.

I think Cattman makes adjustable AGX's. Straight forward for the 2k and w/modification they will fit the 2k1 (you need to buy additional adaptors) I haven't gotten them yet, but I will soon, 'cause I agreee, the rear end leaves much to be desired, especially after lowering!

Rear KYB AGX for 95-99 fit 2k-2k2 without modification.
Front KYB AGX for 95-99 fit 2k-2k2 with modified mounting holes and modified (or 4th gen) upper strut mounts. Cattmann sells modified AGX or you can do it yourself.

I keep reading that the rear springs don't fit the spring cups properly on 2k+s or is that only aftermarket springs?

What do you think of them? Is it a worthwhile mod? From the looks of your car, I would think you definately need some serious dampening to straighten out the bumps (low profile tires and all). Would you recommend doing front and back, or just back? Thanks

I've seen people say that 5th gen Eibachs don't fit well on AGX. Progress springs fit exactly, as other 4th gen springs would.

I love the AGX. I wanted the adjustability for two reasons. First, I didn't have experience with Tokico Blues, so if I had bought Toks, I would've been taking a chance that their dampening didn't match the springs or my tastes well. Second, I can adjust the AGX between city/highway/dragstrip/autocross driving.
I've seen members here discussing replacing just the rear shocks with AGX, and putting Tokicos in front. That might be a good choice, because the rears can be adjusted for ride or to match the Tokicos.
