I have a buddy w/ a 2k gle auto. We have raced on several occassions. I seem to dust him from every speed. Not just by a little bit, but I pretty much waste him.

From a dead stop, it's almost ridiculous. We are both bone stock. Is this fairly normal, or is his floor mat stuck under his accelerator?

It's at least a second slower on average.

My buddies 6 speed beat me by 2 cars when I was bone stock. He had Intake, Exhaust, and UDP. Yes the manual is faster for sure.

Yes

I should've gotten a stick-shift, but my left foot is thanking me for getting an auto.

yes the 2k-2k1 sticks are much faster than the the autos. sticks h get low 15's in the quarter while autos get mid to high 15's. i haven't noticed an entire second difference, but more life half a second.

i want to try and swap in the 2k2 auto tranny for my car, there's much less disparity between the 2k2's....

If 20 horses makes that much of a difference, I think it's time for me to start modding.

It'll be a drivers race.

I would just add that from what I have read, it would seem to be pretty easy and inexpensive to mod a 2k 5 speed to beat a stock 2002 auto pretty handily.

I agree. Stop and go traffic in the big city is why I buy Auto. I owned a 1982 Honda Accord LX Standard for 6 years. It was my last std, auto ever since. Manual in traffic is a real PITA.

From a stop its a drivers race, but on a roll the Manual will walk a 2k2 Auto.
