Magnetic Bra...good, bad

Just purchased a magnetic bra for my 2002 Maxima SE. The hood was getting dinged quit a bit and the paint was starting to chip. I had a leather bra for my previous car but it was pain putting it on and taking it off. This one seems to be pretty easy. Any one using one and would like to share their experience. Thanks

i got one

yes i think i may have been the first on the org to get one.
i had a lot of people ask me about it. i love it. sometimes it is a pain to get on ,but it works.
i have a little scrape/gouge out of it where a stone hit. let me tell you if that would have hit the paint , that hood would have been trashed.
i take it off every other wash. if it seals right you don't have to worry about water getting under it. make sure you keep good wax job under it.
**very important** follow the install instructions: use a hair dryer to shape it onto your hood and the vinyl strip that holds it on may look too short ,but it will stretch with heat to fit properly.
and do it on a hot day when your hood is hot.
***oh and make absolutely there is nothing between the magnet and the hood. a piece of lint will show a little bump/bubble on the magnet.
hope this helps.

Ha! I just ordered one tonight! Thanks for the tips! I'm crossing my fingers until it is delivered. I noticed a new chip this evening.

I have the Carflector. Does the same thing as the magnet bra i would presume.

The 'flector already saved my hood/windshield once on the highway. I was going around 80mph when a rock came flying through (and) amazingly hitting the carflector which in turn just hurled it above and beyond my roofline.

Given the 'flector sits an inch or two higher than the hood and has bump stops (just in case) i'd think if i had a clear bra or magnet bra i'd still get a dent there somewhere.

Then again, each type of cover has it's own pro's and con's.

Very happy with magnetic bra. As someone said a piece of lint will show as a bump, and I also take it off every other wash. Worth the money and looks. Had for 5 months now.

Well I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it does it's job without creating other problems. I plan on going with the 3m clear bra but can't find anyone in my area who installs and don't feel comfortable doing it myself. I thought I'd at least fork over the $44 for the magnet bra in the meantime. I'm not wild about the look of the leather bras (or the hassle when it rains) but these (mags) actually look pretty damn good in the pics I've seen in the forum posts.

Here's an EBay auction for it for $29 + $8.95 s/h. I was thinking of getting it, but I don't really dig bras (on cars)

got the bra yesterday at the office (got a LOT of weird looks from the front desk staff who sort the mail since the box said "MagnetBra") Put it on today (not too difficult, but man it does show every little speck of dust and I am too **** to let that go) and it looks pretty good. Hope it does it's job!

Darn! Already ordered mine... You may want to post under the "For Sale" forum. You shouldn't have any problems selling it.
