Fuel Gauge

Has this ever happened to anyone? The needle on the fuel gauge doesn't seem to go as hi as it used to when the tank was full. Any suggestions? And yes, the fuel pump stops automatically when the tank is full. I am not the one who stops it manually. Thanx.

Happens to me on occassion.
Had previous problems with my fuel gauge though...the needle got stuck at 3/4 full. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the fuel sending unit. Then it got stuck at 1/8 full. Took it back to dealer
and they had to adjust the floater inside the tank.. or something
like that. The fuel gauge hasn't been the same since.

I don't know.. sometimes that gas pump will stop when its not full.. I went to an Exxon once, almost on empty and that thing stopped when it was only 3/4 full.. filled up 11-12 gallons. Don't trust it. Although you don't wanna keep pumping cause eventually you'll get a gasoline shower.
