Recall Notice-Replace Transverse Links

I saw a thread about this a couple of weeks ago.(Jaws) I took my car in for scheduled maintenance and I was told that my car required replacement of the transverse links. I got it done last week, If you get the recall plan on your car being at the dealer most of the day. When you get notified try to schedule an early appointment. it's not a quick job.

Mine is actually at the dealer having that done right now.
They said they needed it the whole day, but they had a lot of jobs in today so...
my inconvenience is what happens. At least there's no charge...

Good question! I actually removed mine before taking it in, just in case. Didn't want them adjusting it wrong afterwards.
I don't know if it was necessary but did it anyway.

I took mine in with FSTB and there was no problem. Process took half day. My front steering and suspension felt tighter for a few days with lest bump steer and more solid over bumps, no weird clanking noise. Now it is back to the way is was before...short term fix effects I guess.

I haven't put it through it's paces, but the car (w/o the FTSB) felt so mushy. Turning a corner felt like it was going to tip over (exageration of course). It may have been like that before I installed the FTSB, but I don't remember it being that bad. I put it back on last night and Wow, wotta difference the FTSB makes. I swear it's the best mod for the money. I forgot how bad the roll is w/o.

I took mine in with the FSTB. No, they didn't take it out or adjust it in any way.

Same here... The only long-lasting improvement has been less torque steer under hard acceleration. I was about to go back to the dealer and make them check the installation. The steering wheel feel is now just as sh**** as before.

Can someone tell me why I haven't gotten ANY recall notices in the mail!? I've had my car for 3 months now and I haven't heard anything...did they fix a bunch of crap at the dealership before they sold it to me, or are they just choosing not to acknowledge my ownership????

Do I have to go in and ask, "Hey, are there any life threatening recals to my car?"

I did not get a recall notice from Nissan but a letter from my dealership for this control arm replacement recall. By the time I received it, I had the work done already.
I recommend calling the dealer with your VIN at hand and asking them if your car is affected by
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 02V146000 . They know which VINs were affected and if yours is, they should have notified you long time ago.

Recall

Had my recall done today took two hours 7 to 9 am
The entire left and right control arms were replaced ball joints and all
The old control arms have a week spot and could break.
Dealer never saw one come in broken through
Turning radius has improved for sure

i got that recall done to my 2k2 se, and they said they did it, but how do i know if they really did it, is their any way 2 check. the characteristics about handling improvementwith it done was not noticed with me cuz the handling never felt bad to me. and the turning radius is still a joke

A control arm looks like this

This one is out of a pick up truck ,but now you can look under your
car and know what a control arm looks like

This is the part they are replacing

I received a SRN for the accelerator pedal stop.
The service department informed me of the transverse links requiring replacement during a tune up.
If you have questions you can call your dealer service dept and they can check your vin # to see if your car is affected

just got mine done... is it possible now my steering wheel is slightly off to the left? I don't remember having to keep my wheel to the left before but now, rather than being at 12:00, it looks like it's at 11:55... I'm trying to say it looks like now I have to hold my wheel to the left a little to keep the car straight.

It has to go back for the hood TSB in a few days so I'll talk to them about alignment then.

I'm not sure where you got your information, but they should have performed an alignment. No two control arms are going to be identical to fractions of a mm. They should have aligned it.

I had one replaced in early Feb when a control arm snapped on me. They did not align it and the car pulled.

Maybe you needed that because you snapped it and you put stress on other parts when this happened
The people who build this car would know better than us .
They want use to be happy with the car so we buy again from them
Anyway the car steers fine no pulling it drives straight

One more thing when they do an alignment it has nothing to do with the control arm .Nothing conected to that control has anything to do with alignment and that is why it is not needed.
