one more question.... what type should i get R4 or R4S

R-4 Carbon Kevlar
Ten years old and still an outstanding race pad, the original R-4 Carbon Kevlar has proven to be versatile and a superior performing product. We have added two new compounds to compliment the R-4.

R-4 S: Street High-performance & Limited Competition
The high performance street pad of choice. Very high friction level even at cold temperatures.

i brake hard kinddddddddaaaaaaa a lot and sometimes from highway speeds, but im using stock rotors , not slotted

They did for me 6 weeks ago......full set of R4-S pads carried a $32 discount when mentioning maximadriver.com.

Has that changed recently?

Me either at first. Call them back and b!tch. You're welcome to use my name, as I'm sure they remember me since they shipped my pads to an old employer. Needless to say I was livid since they were and hour away from me.......

i just bought mine 2 days ago

and i mentioned the maximadriver.com group deal. on the webpage, it's listed at 118.00, but it's really $126. the girl said they hadn't updated the webpage to reflect the change in price. only 8 bones difference though....
i'm not much of a car guru so i don't know if this is standard price or not, but it seemed okay for all 4 pads considering costs i saw perusing the internet . . .

Nah, I'm fine with that because I did order front pads for the 300 ZX calipers. They gave me a discount on those last time.

Check out http://www.porterfield-brakes.com for pricing.

Hence, why the discount is $32 now instead of $40.

Good to hear they are still honoring that.

Grrr this thread made me do it. I just ordered 4 R4s pads. Came out to $139.00 shipped to Joisey. Hope these work well with the EMC rotors!

This site is very informative but painful for the wallet.

Their main advantage: easy on rotors

Their main disadvantage: dust

Really? I thought it was the opposite per their site. Then again you can't go with the manufacturers claims.

Same girl I dealt with. It took an additional phone call to get the discount after asking for it the first time. After explicitly updating my address, she still had the pads sent to an old address.

She seemed more interested in flirting than taking my order.
