I couldn't post on the thread with your headlight Q. so here you go

1 squeeze both side tabs on the wiring harness and remove from bulb
2 The rubber boot you refer to can be pulled off with ample pressure
3 There is a spring clip holding the bulb in squeeze the two top parts and work the metal clips out of the notches they sit in
4 Bulb comes right out now
