Anybody have it installed already, and how does it compare to Injen's 2002 intake?

break out the hacksaw if you want the PR CAI the injen requires no cutting.

 

You need a drill with a saw bit on it, not a hacksaw.

In my opinion the Injen is a far superior intake in its design. Heat always rises and it will get trapped in a wheel well. Unless you plan on going through water that would go past the midpoint of your wheels you need not worry about taken up water with the Injen. That really is the only true problem with it is it can take up water during a flood but you can get a AEM bypass to remedy that problem. Added bonus is it looks good and with a nitrous line going into it it looks even better. lol

 

Not so sure that the injen is going to be better in regard to the heat. It is right behind the radiator as opposed to being off to the side in the wheel well.

I think the other potential disadvantage to the injen is that it is going to get splashed with water and dirty much faster than the PRCAI.

I installed the PR CAI - I used to be opposed to the cutting but it wasn't a big deal. It was a bit of a pain. But I got it cheap.

The injen is nicer looking, though.

 

the place racing cai is a whole lot louder than the injen cai.

 

Probably because it is in the wheel well.

 

Here's "how I figure"

When I installed the PRCAI - the inside of the wheel well was pretty clean. Seemed to me to be a lot cleaner than my engine in general - and I've cleaned the engine. Not sure that much water/dirt goes through the upper part of the wheel well. And it is enclosed from the elements for the most part.

The splash guard may keep a good deal of water off the injen but it seems to me it is still going to be subject to a lot more external dirt and water splashes than the PR.

Don't worry, I'm not saying it is better than the injen. Just my opinion.

nice pic twin I'm ordering mine for my 2k2 automagic next week . I am thinking about getting the blue one. look at injens website they finally got pics of the red and blue intakes

 

What's the difference between the manual and auto injen's? Should be just the piping right??
