Giddy Up Dead Horse... New Land Speed Record
Giddy Up Dead Horse... New Land Speed Record
This was extremely easy to do. Got rolling on the interstate @ 55mph. Watched my accuracy, 12ft - reset all trip data. Its pretty overcast with storms coming in, so I knew my accuracy wouldnt be great for long. As soon as I saw it degrade to 30-40 ft, I punched it. After a few readings at 75-ish, I got this..

Funny thing is my 'speed' on the GPS stayed accurate to the tenth, but obviously maxspeed is just 'alittle' skewed.
Next mod? Air brakes and a big stablizing fin!

Tim, buddy you assuredly need at least an SE spoiler on there for that rate of travel. Thank goodness your safe with those RE92s!
Impressive. And here I was running around like a shmuck thinking the '02 Maxima was topping out at a dinky 164 mph. What a goof I am.
Thanks for setting me straight. Tim, can you lend me that GPS for a bit? I need to check the top speed of the G. I was thinking it's around 120 mph, but because $200 civilian GPS is so much more accurate than common sense, experience, and edumucation, I'm sure the real figure is around 280 mph.
Well done.

oh... just thought it funny...
not trying to mock you or call you a liar, ANYTHING is possible. You could actually get a reading (very accurate) by resetting the trip data and then getting your 'overall speed', but I digress.. that would be insane.
I think the most accurate method is to count aloud 'one-onethousand, two-onethousand' and so on from mile marker to mile marker. I've never been off by more than 1/1000000000000th of a mile per hour in my calculations on scratch paper. Beat that with your fancy car computer!
