Removed Hood Deflector!

I found a big line across the middle of my hood from it rubbing on it even though I put those little pads on. So what do you guys recommend for getting this big mark off the hood, polishing compound?

Sounds like it wasn't installed properly. I had no marks at all from mine.

That's great Russ. Give me your address and I'll send you a cookie. I think it came from the 3m adhesive unsticking. I didn't drill a hole at all.

Ah well then it wasn't installed properly.

I drilled and used the double sided tape like you were suppose to do.

If I remember right, drilling was optional. I would rather have something I can remove then have holes in my car.

The holes are under the hood with all the other holes that Nissan puts there. Big deal. I rather have it on good instead of flying off or screwing up the car like it did on yours.

Gee Russ, I think he was asking for advice on how to fix his hood, not someone telling him "you didn't install it correctly like I did".

BlackMax2k1, I'd suggest trying a rubbing compound like 3M's Perfect It II. I also think I saw something here about a rubbing compound called GSR27 (think that is correct) working really well. Good luck!

He didn't ask "Did I install it right?" he was asking for the best way to get rid of the mark...

Edit: undercvr beat me to it.

I don't give a rats *** if he asked if it was installed right or not. I was telling him the REASON why it screwed up his hood in the first place so others will learn from the mistake and not think that hood deflector will damage there hood. Get it?!

Yeah you didn't install it correctly.

Try using the paint cleaner wax combo from Mequiars Tan Bottle. Wipe on (not in direct sunlight), give it 5 minutes, then wipe off. I used it for removing residue from pin stripes and a nasty line from where my leather bra was.
