First off I want to thank those that gave me the RPM specs for their 2k2 Maximas at 70 mph(2500 rpm) 75(2750) and 80(2900). I know and will not deny that the 2k2 is much more powerful than any 2k1, yet in my 2k1 I had the exact same readouts on my RPM guage. Does anyone know why? I always thought that a more powerful engine could achieve higher speeds at a respectively lower RPM.
Please explain

 

sounds like you had an automagic before, am I wrong? If so that is why. I have a 2k 5spd and it is not close to those RPM numbers in 5th gear. In general the larger engines will work less, but it is all in the gearing...

 

All I know is that I always hit the damn rev limited in first gear. I HATE IT!!!!!

 

the tach on the 2k2s is roughly ~500 rpms too high. redline will result at 7000rpms. that might be the cause of ur results.
