A little help for a 2000 GXE Auto?

I just got my first Max...and I love it! The only problem is it's a GXE automatic. What can I do to this car to give it a little more pep? The people at my local speed shop say the Stillen Supercharger won't work on an automatic. If someone could be so kind as to let me know what mods I can do to help this doggie run!

Thanks in advance!

Just so you all know....I did read the section on mods here. So I do have some idea of what can be done. Just some suggestions are appreciated....and maybe a work around for the supercharger supposedly not working on an Automatic.

I had a thread on this very issue

I think there are a few of us in the same boat. I, personally, would rather go the SC route than get taken to the cleaners on trade-in once the warranty expires. One of these days I would like to get out from under a car loan. I just enjoy driving dependable vehicles.

The SC is a possible conversion for the automagics like ourselves. Based upon what I've read, the problem has to do with modifying the air intake for filter clearance on the Automatics. There are some automatic SC maximas out there...(y2kevse). They simply added the air intake to the right side of the engine compartment rather than do any sort of modifcations to the SC kit itself.

If you are looking for inexensive mods: Intake, Y-Pipe, UD Pulley in that order. Then on to the bigger stuff (NO2 or SC).

Just my 2 cents.

Re: I had a thread on this very issue

Thank you very much for the work around info. I knew that it was possible to put the SC on it. I will do the other mods you recommended first.....I only have saved 2,000 towards the SC so far....so in about another month I'll be ordering it. Does anyone on this site have a CAI installed with a through hood scoop? I have a 87 300zx that doesn't work....but it has the stock scoop on the hood....I was thinking about putting it on my Max....any thoughts?

go get a FSTB to stiff up the handling. without it, you'll be slipping and sliding behind the wheels!

So.. those really make a difference. I noticed the sway in the car at high speeds around corners. They are cheap too! Very cool, then it may actually handle like a sports car.lol
