Has anyone here bought the illuminated stainless steel door sills that are sold on Ebay? I just bought some but they haven't ccome in yet. Do they look cool on our 5th gens? Are they hard to install yourself? Let me know your feedback.

saw them on mr.max420's car and he tried to help me with the install but apparently the wiring for the 2k's and the 2k1's is slightly different.....

still looking for someone to help me out with this

post up the pics!!! - i was thinking about getting the AE door sills b/c I thought it looked very sleek - but I had no idea there were illumintaed door sills~!!!

 

these are much nicer then the ae ones in the front the back sills are just like the ae ones, im chargeing the bat's for my cam right now so ill try and take some pics at nite and during the day and try and post them up tomarrow

I have pics & install that chebosta gave me a long time ago...if someone wants to host it somewhere b/c its Big File to download to everyone....

 

I have them already but I bought them when they only made the ones for the front doors!!!
the back door ones are just chrome. Someone check if they sell the rear ones separate. I have pics of them on either page 3 or 4 of my homepage!
I had someone do it for me for $30 bucks...dont know how they wired it. I like them though.

I'm pretty sure they dont glow, cuz they dont have a door light to wire it to...

Can you change the color on them, like with indiglo gauges? Because in the EBay auction pic it shows them in two different colors?

 

Dosnt that link to the lights on EBAY show a set of fronts and rears with the light? The old set, you can cleary see the rears have to light in them at all just plain chrome... in the pic, the rears at least have the indiglo reflector. Somebody has to e-mail the guy and ask him!

I saw these on Pillager's car last week.... W O W ! ! !

They look awesome NOT ricey!... good call! Run the wiring through your plastic trim-piece right beside the doorsill... all the way back to the fusebox. Once you find the maplight fuse... wire in series & you're set! Check the wattage, first & make sure you're not draining more than the rated AMPs on the fuse...

Post your EBAY Item#, so we can check them online!...

I emailed the EBay Seller in the above link. He says the front sills glow, the rear ones do not. Also, they are just one color, you cannot change it like with some indiglo gauges.

i wired mine up the weather stripping into the door then wired them to the little lights in the door

 

it looks VERY nice~ is the wiring complicated?
