Tickets for Tint??
Since so much discussion pertains to tinting, etc. I was wondering how many .org members have actually been ticketed or had a problem at vehicle inspections with tint that is darker than the local laws allow.
the state i live in has 35% as the legal limit in the front and i have mine down to 20%...5% in the back, and i havent had problems. the area im in, cops really dont care, theyre more worried about drunk drivers and underage drinkers..
here in socal, i got a fix it ticket for tints on my 2 front windows. i was at the wrong place at the wrong time. damn cops, i'm bitter. i had to get them removed and pay a $10 fee. the ONE time i forget to roll down my windows at night, i get caught!!
Here in PA 70% is legal limit
I was ticketed and given an order to remove within five days and go to police station to show them. Needless to say, I was very unhappy.
Tint was at 35%. PA law is ambiguous and subject to interpretation but there is no legal recourse if ticketed.

I'm getting some Platinum tint soon. Here in CA, I think you can have any tint on the rear doors and window, and no tint whatsoever in the front. I'm probably getting 20% throught the rear, or just 20% on the back window, and 35% on the rear doors. I'm still debating on whether I should get tint on the front doors. My friend already got ticketed twice for it. If I do, I'll probably get something like 50% or lighter.

if you're going to tint the front windows 50%, dont even bother. it's too light.

Well, I kinda want the cosmetic benefit too. Even though 50% maybe too light, would it still have the metallic mirror-like finish?
