B Pillar is the pillar between the front and rear doors. The front doors shut against it, and the rear doors are hinged on it. On a coupe the B pillar is in the same place (right behind the front doors), except that there are no rear doors.

Hope your wife's okay, guchi.

I am just going to anwser your question "what else could go wrong"..that is a simple answer, you wife could have been seriously hurt/killed. A car can be replaced..I think sometimes people lose sight of priorities (not saying you did guchi)

It look like it's not your wifes fault, unless she ran a stop sign or red light. Oviously someone sideswiped her!

...Dude, is your wife ok? That is what is important... This is why we have insurance. No insurance can replace your loved ones... I would take a sledgehammer to my car for a full 8 hours before I would allow a scratch on my wife...

Everyone gets laid off... The economy is not doing any better. Ever since Bush became the president, the economy is declining and now, he is taking more vacations and declaring wars with Iraq, who is not even bothering anyone just yet...

She's ok, no physical bodily harm. Just a few tense muscles. {Thank God}

The situation as she explained it to me...she was pulling out from her work place parking lot, a van parked right next to her blocked her view of the road {25mph street}, so she inched forward and determined the street clear. As she pulled out, a early model 4 door toyota slammed into her. Now, no way in h3ll, the other vehicle was driving 25mph to do this type of damage. But, no matter it was her fault since she entered oncoming traffic.

I'm blessed she didn't get physically hurt or worse. At least one silver lining in the clouds.

Now don't go blaming the economy on Bush. Obviously the only reason the economy was so good when Slick ***** was in office is because all the corporations were following his immoral examples and screwing with the books. Now those executives are all going to jail which is where Clinton should be going. The main reason the economy is the way it is now is because of 9/11 and the ongoing conflict.

and since Iraq very possibly has nuclear weapons aimed at us right now I would say they are bothering us.

....anyway I think this thread can officially be moved to OT now!

That looks like a 25mph crash or less. Have you seen the front quarter crash tests? The whole car's front end is smashed, and yours is just crushed in; plus it's from the side. Anyways, I hope your car is in good condition after all is done.

ok...
I did some checking, that pic was not supposed to be there. its not really Maxima06071's fault. He linked a Norman Rockwell photoshop off of somethingawful.com

somethingawful.com is like fark or any of those other satircal humor sites, its not a **** site. *BUT* in order to make people stop linking to their site (as they do have some funny pictures), the image is redirected to the nastiest **** ever. As you can see it works.

Apologies to all that had to have that image burned into their memory. thanks for getting it reported quickly.

Maxima06071, I wont push for your ban.. Please be careful with that, you owe some people an apology as well, it was pretty gross..

When I previewed it, it just showed happy little George W scooping ice cream; NOT what apparently came up....
I am so shamed, I have dishonored the Maxima community.
I will probably not be posting anything for a while.

no no.. heh, yes embarrasing.. Seriously it wasnt your fault. Luckily, I remembered seeing someone who got banned on fark.com for that very same thing... In fact I think that's mostly why SA started that, to rib the fark.com posters.

Really, it was an honest mistake. lesson learned.. it's really ok.

car can be fixed or replaced, but certain injury can be permanent.

I would not be surprised if the car that hit yours was only doing 25 mph. 25 mph is pretty fast when you think about it. And it hit near the middle of your car, and cars don't like to slide sideways, so the energy was mostly absorbed by the door. I'm so glad your wife was okay!!!!

Hey guchi, glad to hear that the wife is okay. BTW, where in Hawaii are you from? I've had a few close calls this summer too, one in Pearl City and the other by Market City. Some people just don't know how to drive here. Not at all implying that it was your wifes fault, but just a generalization. I mean, there are a few blind places that I've encountered where it's hard to tell when cars are coming.

If you're interested, check out www.maximage.org. That's all of the Hawaii Maxima Enthusiasts from Maui to the Big Island. Take care.

Perhaps you should be a little thankful for all that pushed-in sheetmetal. Any energy dissipated doing that was kept from slamming your wife around inside the passenger compartment any more than she was. Glad to hear she's OK, though she can expect to be a little stiff & sore for a few days.

If the van was the least bit illegally parked you probably have a case of partial responsibility (or something like that) against its operator (for causing an unsafe condition to exist). And although the Toyota's speed at impact was probably under 25 mph, its speed on approach almost certainly was not. Unless Toyota driver never touched the brakes. Get photos of the accident site.

On the other subtopic, layoffs happen. I'm in the same situation right now, and yesterday I ran into a guy I worked with a dozen years or so ago and found out that he's in the same boat. My suggestion here is to avoid tying your self-image too closely to your job if you work for somebody else. (It must be cosmic coincidence that Todd Rundgren's "Bang The Drum" is playing on the radio as I'm typing this, it goes something like this: "I don't wanna work, Wanna bang on the drum all day . . .", and I can't help grinning)

That is pretty much what my car looked like with the damage being primarily to the right rear door. I too thought (hoped) it would be totalled, but they said it was worse than it looked. Over $6,000.00 later, you cant tell. Take it to a quality shop though.
