Okay, this isnt a big problem with me, but i have noticed it and wonder if its something bad. I have noticed that when i slow down to around 1,100 RPM's i can feel something in the engine "slip" or "lunge forward". its not dramatic, but i can feel it happening. It hasnt hindered my performance at all, but its there and i wonder about it. All of the other 4 Maxima's ive driven in my life have had this as well, and im guessing its just the overdrive kicking out. I tested this by turning off the overdrive, and lo and behold, it stopped doing it. so, is this something i should look into, or just something that Maxima's do?

PS, mine is an auto.

Thanks!

It could be just the downshift. Or, if it only happens in overdrive, it could be the lockup disengaging.

losing faith???

Okay, I found out why my car is doing this, and im pissed that my dealer said nothign to me about it. guys, its something that needs to be fixed. I found out by checking out Kev's mods on his car. You need to cantact your dealer about a TCM upgrade. It will fix the problem. Got to this link, print it out and take it to your dealer. http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~chin/...Maxima/TSB.jpg

The TCM regards to slippage from 1st to 2nd (especially at high rpm) like shifting on a manual without lifting the throttle. Since your problem is at 1,100 rpm, I don't think that's the TCM. That's just my .02 cents.
