Installing Fog Lights

I just purchased new fog lights for my 2002. It looks like it will be difficult to remove the lower panels underneath the car. Does anyone have tips/Ideas for installing new lights?

Thanks in Advance

panels

When I replace the fog light bulbs with PIAA's I ended up taking a lot of the tabs off. I didn't completely remove the paneling only up into the wheel well. After that I was able to get enough access to the fog lights. Hope this helps.

Its not necessary to do this but makes it much easier is to raise your car on jack stands, get plenty of light, and take your time.

Thanks for the info. Were the tabs replaceable? Will I need to replace anything (buy parts)? My old Toyota had one time use tabs that broke once you removed them, so I just kept a bag of them in the garage. They don't look like screws, so I assume they will snap back in when I'm finished?

I used the foglight kit install directions on courtesynissans site as a guide since the 2k2 is different (and easier) than the install for the 2k (as found on www.5thgenmaximas.com).

2k2 fog light kit install

I had to take the bolt, clip, and tab from the bottom along with two tabs from the wheel well to free up the bottom panel and gain access. Then you unplug the power cable, remove 2 bolts, and slide the fog out the front of the bumper.

The tabs are all reusable. They don't take much effort to pop out. I was able to do this without jacking up the car, but ramps would've made it a lot easier.

Hope this helps.

First time it may take you a while, but after that its no problem at all. I can switch them both out now in about 20 minutes with no jacks, but I'm kinda short too which helps
