OK, i just got an alpine 7998 head unit and when they went to install it they claimed the maxima dash kit WOULD NOT fit and had to be modified ... for an extra $100, so now i have it in my car this modified thing that is like half dash kit and half bondo which is cracking cause it didnt dry long enough but anyway i just wanted to know if this stereo shop's info was 100% nv homestly i think id be alot happier with the scosche kit if it would fit... any1?

 

See i got no idea on the I30s, but I know that Scosche made a nice trim kit for the 2k-2k2. It allows you to put two single DINs in place. or a single Din and a pocket. But this is only a trim piece that goes OVER the radio in an ISO mount. this trim piece cannot be used to hold the radio using a DINcage setup.

If you had pictures to show your cracking I might be able to help. But if they painted and used the bondo correctly, without over doing the hardener, it shouldve cracked.
