Door Trim Replacement

I just got my 02 GLE about 3 weeks ago and some jag decided that he/she was ****ed because I had a new car. So they took what it looks like is a screw driver and hit enough to dent and scratch that vinyl black part between the windows on the driver side that covers the "B" pillar. Does anyone know if this can be replaced, the dealer said no and to live with it, any suggestions?

Unfortunately he seem to be right, I just verified it by looking through the Service manual and in the Body and Trim section it dont show anything on how to remove that piece or anything. It seems that is it part of the door.

Maybe you can see what a local body shop says, although you might be talking some $$$$

That really bites. Do you think you could cover it with the Carbon Fiber Door Pillars?...don't know if it's your style but it's just an idea.

Very good Idea, that brings me to another idea. If you dont like the scratch or the carbon fiber panel, you can always cover it with vinal decal cut to size. As long as the scratch/dent is not deep that it will show through the vinyl

Those are some great ideas. Not to big on the carbon fiber look, unless its on my mountain bike of course. But I do have a buddy that is a metal fabricator, maybe he can make me some stainless steel covers or something. There is def. a dent there, you can see it a few feet away and the vinyl or whatever it is is kinda bunched up, I don't want to make a mess so i've left it alone. I'm gonna check on those covers.
