Stillen Rear Valance for 02 SE Max

I' thinking of purchasing the stillen rear valance for my 2002 Max SE, But it appears that the rear splash guards have to be removed. Is this the case? Can somebody that has bought one confirm this! Also, how hard is it to mount it after it's been painted, or should you mount it first, then have it painted? I'm not to thrilled about removing my rear splash guards! Thanks for the help.

splash guards do need to be removed, it takes 30 seconds each. you should have it painted first then mount it.

I replaced my 2k splash guards with 2k1 guards. I noticed some scratching where the guards were...no big deal, cause I replaced them with other splash guards, but what if I want to put on the Stillen kit?
Has anybody run into this problem??

Emax, you put your wheels under the car for safety? Whoaaaa, I know it is what was taught back in the day, but I dont think you want the car falling on that along with damaging the wheels when it does.

I had a car fall off the jacks before and one roll down the ramps and hit my other car once, so I know what safety is like. I would try to use something like Wooden blocks since concrete blocks will crumple when and if it drops.

The rims are there just in case one of the jacks gives out. I would much rather my car bang up a rim then either crush me or smash up the botom of the car. If a jack stand crumpled or something my rim would just get scratherd, no biggie..

Like I said, I completely understand your point in safety, but I would much rather go with a large wooden block like something cut from a tree stump.

Well unfortunatly I had no suitable wooden blocks laying around to put under my max. I don't expect my car to full off the jacks so it's not a real big deal to me.

john2002max, thanks, the rear valence is very easy to install.
