Hard Starting

This doesn't happen all the time. Its happened about five times in the las 4 months. 2K1 SE. Trying to start the engine fires but dies as if it has no gas. Try to restart, same thing. After about 3 tries it fires up no problem. Like I said it doesn't happen all the time. Anyone had that or know whats up. I don't wanna get stuck some where. Thanks.

There are ALOT of things that can play a part in this. Such as the plugs are messed up. The coil is messed up. Another one most people dont think about is the oil, if you havent changed it in awhile it can be that.

Its really hard to pin point hard starting, it is one of the worst things to trouble shoot. Just have to go to each possible thing and test to ensure it works.

Try this: before your crank the car up, hold the key in the accessory position for a couple of seconds (until you hear 2-3 beeps), then start it. Sometimes the fuel pump needs to build the fuel pressure up.

Check your distributor cap, it could be cracked and moisture could be leaking in. Does it happen more when it rains?
You need to look more often under your hood.
