Freakin' Thiefs

I noticed about 2 weeks ago that the screw on valve stem caps were stolen off my tires. So i bought a new set and put them on. Last night i go out to my car and wouldnt you know it...they are once again gone. I have an alarm to prevent the car from theft, two wheel locks on each wheel to prevent the wheels from theft and they manage to take my caps. I know its better than seeing my Max on cinder but im ****ed...now i dont want to leave them off but i know once i buy another set they will be gone again...ahhh anyway im just venting.

There's nothing you can do. I've gone through 3 sets of caps before I just said f!@& it.... It's too much of a hassle, the very next morning after there on like 2 would be missing from one side. The next day the other too. I think it's the kids around here, they steal them and put it on their bikes..

well at least your car came with 4 caps. mine came with 2 from the dealer. so i stole 4 from the golf carts at workto make a set. but before i did that, every1 who saw my car for the 1st time made a comment on why was i missing 2 tire caps. i didnt realize that it was such a deal. so i finally bought a set after that.

Man, where do you live that such evil little trolls have nothing better to do than steal wheel caps? I have chrome caps and sleeves on my Max and the wifes van (I know) and have had zero thoughts about having to ever replace them. Move to Canada and enjoy your stuff...

Probably kids since the caps fit the stems on their little BMX bikes. Notice any kids around your neighborhood? Maybe pull them aside one day and let 'em know you got some high surveillance goin' and see if that scares them off.

if you have a video camera, hook it up so that the VCR can record about 8 hours of tape time. also, put on a light outside so you can see these cheap *** theives. I'm tempted to do this around here too but they don't steal stuff around here. They dump beer bottles all over my lawn and everyone elses...

wow, i can't believe people are steeling the screw on valve stem caps now. Being 16, i'm kind of a noob to cars although i know some about modding cars and so on, but what are 'wheel locks.' Does anyone have a picture of the lock itself so i can see what they are. Sounds like a good thing to have as here in Paradise Valley, AZ, which is one of the richest parts of Arizona, people are getting their wheels stolen right and left. Someone i know took their car to a water park and 4 hours later when they came back to their car it was on cinder blocks without wheels at all! Right now i just have the stock wheels on my car, but eventually i will be getting an expensive set of racing or dub wheels. Thanks!

DailleyDog is probably right. I remember when I was just a little punk on my BMX bike my friends and I would steal chrome caps for our bikes. If you don't what you're caps stolen just put on the cheap plastic black ones.

Well each wheel has 5 standard lugs to bolt them on to your car. If you buy wheel locks one lug on each tire will be replaced with a special lug that has a unique keyed top and you need a special key to take that lug nut off. Hope that helps.

Use a wrench to tighten them down. Carfully so you dont strip. You can even use a drop of loctite. It's a hassle to check tire pressure but look at the alternative.
