Paint chips = Rust; how to fix

I have 2 small paint chips on the side of my car that I can see a small speck or two of rust on. Should I just paint with touchup over them? I remember a while back someone mentioned a product that you rub over the touchup paint and it smooths it out.

I was thinking of taking it to the dealership since it should be under warranty.

Touch-up paint, then Langka to smooth it out. Someone on the forum said he was going to try it and let us know how it works, but never posted about it. How about you be the first?

Does the warranty cover rusting because of paint chips? I wouldn't think so.

Actually, guess I'll be the first, since I just placed the order with Langka.

Sure, I'll post with results. It was $25 shipped for the 2 oz.

If you see rust in the spot, putting touchup paint on top is not the best idea. What I've found over the years to work well is a product called Ospho, it comes in a large plastic bottle and is a green liquid. Put a drop of it on the rust spot and you will see it bubble. Let the Ospho sit for 20 min to dry out and then apply the touchup paint.

Sorry, I haven't looked for it lately but check around in the car parts stores. A little goes a long way, I got a bottle 10 years ago and still have half of it left. Be careful when handling it, it contains phosphoric acid that will burn your skin.
