Hey guys I have 12000 miles on my 2k1 Auto Max. unfortunately, recently a nail went through the sidewall of my rear right tire. So according to the tire shops I went to, I need to buy a brand new tire. Is that true guys? Also I have Toyo Proxes A05 p215/55/R16 that came with the car. How much do those tires cost to replace? Do you guys have an affordable alternative tire that I can buy for the car? Thanks for your time. I live in Riverside, CA if you can recommend some reasonable tire shops. Remember guys, I am not really interested in high performance tires, just good quality tires.

By the way, at my local Home Depot, I saw a 2k2 Alty 3.5 with 20 inch mags: 245/35/R20 Those things are nice.

 

Do yourself a favor, sell the Toyos on EBay for whatever you can get for them and buy anything else but the A05's. They are discontinued anyway...check out the Kumho 711's or others on sale at www.tirerack.com right now.

yeah, you can't patch up a puncture in the sidewall. shops won't do it for liability reasons, and it probably is really unsafe.
