What Intake to get for a 2k auto

Hey guys,
I just have a very debatable question for you all. I have a 2k max w/ the K&N filter in my air box. I am looking for more power. What intake should I get???

Thank you for your help.

I just posted the same question in the 4th gen forums ,but I have a 95 Auto and they all recommended a Cold Air Intake, because it helps low end power to get a better start for when your racing 5 spds. I could be wrong as you can see im a NEWBIE so just thought id try to help

Seems like Injen is getting a lot of good reviews lately.

Is the INJEN a CAI or regular intake?

It's a CAI, and unlike the PR you don't need to drill a hole

Im currently running the Stillen Hig Flow intake. Its ok, but I am going to change to CAI as soon as I get the funds. I just don't no which one to get, INJEn, PR-CAI, or CATTMANS MONSTER FLOW.

How hard is it to install the injen?

If you were going to go CAI the Injen would be the easiest. Arguably the place racing is slightly better do to its position entirely outside of the engine compartment. The Injen sits below the battery just to the side of the radiator.

It took me about 2 hrs to put an Injen in my 2k2 auto. It's a bit trickier in the auto (much tighter clearances) so I suspect you could do it in an hour on a stick (with the proper tools). You won't need anything out of the ordinary, but a deep socket wrench helps when working with the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) bolts. By the way, follow the Injen instructions exactly if you go that route. DO disconnect the battery. DO treat the MAF as if it were fine china.

The Frankencar is the loudest, but the Injen gives a good roar during heavy acceleration, if that's what you’re looking for. My MPG went from 23.5 to about 21.5... Some say MPG goes up, but I've been really pushing my car harder lately, to hear the roar!

BTW Injen's are about $227 shipped from Adventon.com. Many here have bought from them.

I'm assuming the Injen will work for the 2k2 auto's as well? Does it have a bypass valve or any protection from water?

You really dont need a bypass valve unless you plan to drive through a big puddle of water. Its plenty prtoected so long as the plastic undercarriage is on.

It will work. You'll look at the cone and the hole its supposed to fit in and say "no way", but it will fit. It does take a little bit more fine tuning to adjust everything so that the cone does not rub against the Tranny dipstick. I spent about an hour taking apart the old intake and getting the injen ready, then about an hour tuning it and ensuring the best placement. In fact the Injen instructions included mention special circumstances when installing into an Auto, but they market it solely for the sticks.
