Trade in for a 6 speed

I got a 2k2 auto and was thinking about trading that in and getting me a 2k2 6 speed but I'm not sure about how the loan things works with a dealership. Does anybody here have info on this. I still have a loan on my car but I want that 6 speed really bad. Any help would be appreciated.

Chances are you'll take a hit on the trade-in due to devalution of your current car.

Say you got it for $23k, still owe $22k, current market value is $20k. If you trade-up you basically lose $2k in the trade which normally gets tacked on the price of the 6spd.

Otherwise, if you're in the clear trading up is as simple as driving to your dealership, talking to the sales rep and working out the #'s on the new car. Mention the trade-in only after you work out the #'s.

I'd say go for it! Or stop modding and save your money. The 2k for the tranny would'nt be that bad. you might get a better rate to help make up for it. Just make sure you get HLSD!!
