Midpipes for all 5th gen are being delivered.
My much awaited midpipes will be shipping by the end of the month. I'm going to have several filter choices available, K&N RU-2820, RR-3003, Apexi. You can also request the following filters: AEM (K&N), Injen (K&N), Akimoto Funnel Ram (same as media as K&N but manufactured by Akimoto), Greddy foam, HKS foam, Blitz stainless, and S&B.
Midpipes are polished 6061 aluminum (of course, not galvanized steel muffler pipe like the other intakes on the market) and hoses are Thermal Flex high performace 3 wall silicone in your choice of Royal Blue, or Flaming Red; both in gloss. We don't use Nappa auto parts coolant hose (although I wish I could since it's about 1/5th the price).
Pricing has not yet been determined but, as you all have come to expect from me, I will be selling them at my crazy low introductory prices for the first people that order.
If you want to be put on a list of preorders send me an email at bryan@berktuning.com. Oh, and check out the newly designed site, I got it professionally done this time, there is much more to come.

p.s.-- i've had a frankencar midpipe for awhile now & no problem....so i guess if it aint broke dont fix it
the only thing is the hoses that look kinda cheap....i was thinking of buying silver Foliatec caliper paint kit to paint my caliper...w/ the leftover paint is it ok to paint the hoses w/o causing harm to anything??? or where can i buy color hoses to fit the midpipe???

If we already have your intake what do we need to purchase to add the midpipe to our setup. I guess I am confused: the MAF, hose?
#21
the only thing you need to hook up the midpipe is two rubber connectors that go on both sides of the pipe. one to the throttle body and one that connects to the tube where the maf sits. i would think he would include clamps as well.

first to introduce this intake on the market in May 2002. for installed pics click on the application link in the order box or go here; www.firmfabrications.com/maxima_intake.asp
contrary to belief, steel is much different than aluminum. hence so many different grades and conditions. steel does not have to be in contact with water in the liquid form. if you live in constantly humid conditions or by salty water, extended periods of "sitting" will allow the moisture in the air to corrode the steel if not protected. even if galvanized. PCV valve, and other emission controlled devices recirculate the air into the intake that is now mixed with oil and fuel and combustion by-products. this is why the inside of the intake has that film and will not corrode if you are constantly using it. but for the odd chance that it does begin to corrode on the inside, what is keeping those very harmful rusted steel particles from being digested by the engine?

About this integrated MAF...
If this is the case, and that the sensor itself can be removed, can i not just buy this piece much less tahn what the dealership charges??
If i use an integrated MAF intake pipe, i would rather buy a new MAF sensor (not the whole assembly) and keep the old unit at home, just incase of warranty issues..

yeah, i've read the thread on the firm intake. that's why i'm posting here. hopefully, either they or bryan or frankendude can come up with an integrated maf sensor for the 2k and 2k1 drivers.
i emailed firm a while ago regarding the application for a 2k/2k1 and they told me via email what's been posted here: under development.
i'm still anxious to see what they come up with. if frankendude or bryan comes up with a modular approach, which can be used in conjuction with a cai or hybrid intake, i'll probably go that route. from the pics, it looks like the firm fabrications intake is a single tube from throttle body to filter. beautiful piece, no doubt. but i'd probably choose flexibility. ideally, there would be a single piece to replace the accordian section and maf housing, all in one. everything out from the maf could be aftermarket whatever... pop intake or cai. i think that may lend some more flexibility to the sc guys too.

bryan,
is it possible to use your midpipe on the stock intake, just replacing only the rubber coiled tubing?? i want to keep the car quiet and some of the low end, so i want to keep the stock box. i'm interested if it's doable.
victor.
