Well it's not really possible so don't even think about it. That clear lense was dremeled off So it was rough on the edges and of course it would not seal. Before you say it heat does not work with taking apart 5th gen tail lights. You need a total of 3 sets of tails to get this to work. A pair of 2000 max tails, and 2 pairs of 2002 tails.

From what I know about the tails, the red reflector you've got in there looks like from the 00-01. I thought you couldn't open the taillights without breaking them?

Very good.. The reflector is from a 2000 GXE tail light. I dremeled it out of it and sanded it down to the exact shape of the pop in 2002 reflector. And like I said, I used a dremel to get the tails open, either that or they just break.

Ok...for us lamers with GXE tails...can we use this Testors on the outside for a cheaper way to get the SE look? Or should i shell out the dough for the real thing??

I saw someone on here that painted the outside of his tails to color match his car...and his car was that brown / tannish color...anyone know who I'm talking bout??

thanks..

I just order a can of the "vans" transculent paint from Eautoworks, hopefully it will do the job. Has someone done this before?

Sorry to bring this back up but i have a question about this mod. I bought the testor's candy apple red spray at walmart.

Okay, do I have to take the taillights off my car to do this?

I will post pics when I am done..

Thanks!

You don't have to take the lights off the car, I find it easier to do it on the car. I would be carefull with that testors paint, I really don't like it. Van's is way easier to work with and the end result looks a bit beter. I tried both BTW.

AHH Now You Tell Me! Well, so do I take all the backing behind the taillights out? Or just that one pin and just move it to the side and squeeze my hand in there and spray?

Thanks once again
