Need help on leaking sunroof

I have a an '01 Max. When the sunroof is closed, you can push on it
from the outside and you get a little downward travel. I have
notice when I go to a high pressure car wash, I few drops will leak in. It never drips into the car. It just stays up near the sunroof.
Is this normal or do I have a problem? Maybe there is an adjustment on the panel that will make it fit tighter? Thanks.

sunroof seal

On my 89 I experienced this as well, I ignored it until I had some serious water damage to the liner one day. I took it to a mechanic I trust and he explained that the seal on sunroofs is not meant to be watertight. There are drainage lines that run down the rear window columns (I forget the technical name for these but they are basically the pillars that are between the rear window and the side doors). In my case when he tried to use some forced air to clear out those lines, one was completely blocked (the bozo's who installed my replacement radio antenna had pinched it off). My mechanic said it is not unheard of for these lines to get blocked over time with dirt. So the short of it is that its normal for some small seal leak. But it shouldn't be to the point where anything more than a few drops is leaking past. Hope this rather lengthy explanation helps.

Since yours is an 01, im assuming you aint go outside your warranty coverage. Take it to the dealer, it should not move downward at all.

Re: Need help on leaking sunroof

i had the same problem. the part that is faulty is what they call a drip rail gasket. i got mine replaced under warranty, and no water leaks into my car whatsoever.
