just finished it just now.....wasn't too bad at all....a LOT easier than where the 3rd gens have their oil filter. 4 1/4 of regular mobil oil and a purolator filter. i guess next change should be at 6500k and then at 10k i'll switch over to synthetics....does this seem reasonable?

also, should i switch over to syn. tranny fluid at the 10k mark with the oil or should i do it earlier?

no discussion on what brand to use cause that takes up about 50% of the threads that exist on this board.

 

If it were my car I'd switch the engine and tranny both to synthetic
oils. I personally don't believe you need to wait until you have 10k on the car. Corvettes, Mercedes Benz and Porsche all all come from the factory with synthetic oil in their engines. Just my $ .02!

 

Switching to synthetic at 10k should be fine. I just switched at 5k.
10k for the tranny fluid should be ok too. I'm planning to do it a 15k.

 

does any one out there know how much syn gear oil(6-speed) takes,? the manual does not tell how much, just whast type 75w-90 gl -4. thank's

 

Buy three qts., it should take around 2 1/2.
