Toyo + Hydro = SCARY!!!

On the way home from the cabin Sun night I hit a rainstorm. I started hydroplaning. It was only slight, but I couldn't go more than about 40 mph. It was a downpour, but others in trucks and SUV's were barreling on by me and if I went 50 I was completely white-nuckled. I bought early 2000 so I have the 16" on my 00SEAuto. The Toyo Proxes have only 37K on them and don't look totally bald. Anyway, I just ordered Dunlop SP A2's and am getting them put on on Thur. That was the second time I was a nervous wreck in the rain. Can anybody confirm for me that these tires are my best option? I live in MN so I need them to be at least tolerable in snow. I did get by with my Toyos for a couple winters so these gotta be better than those, don't they??? The guy from Discount tire said I could consider Continental 93H or Yoko 420. Anybody using any of these tires???? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

Dig around www.tirerack.com and read up on their tire reviews.

I did, and that's what brought me to the Dunlops. I'm just looking for more input from anybody that has them, or something else better perhaps. The reviews were somewhat dated in there. I'm getting them for $116/tire including installation and free lifetime balance and rotate. I think Tirerack was a little cheaper but I like the free lifetime balance, etc.

Thanks

I got the A2s in 17" and I love them so far. I've been through a couple of good rain storms with them and they did me well. Good choice.

A2's here also on my 16 inch winter rims. Great tire, very quite, good grip and very nice in the rain.

Good choice of rubber.

Excellent, that's what I've been wanting to hear. I should have them on Thur night so I'll post back after the weekend just to let everybody know if they're all good. I have heard nothing but good things thus far about the tire. How bout the price of $116/ea including installation? That sound like a good deal?

Thanks
