350z dead pedal

Called Courtesy Nissan and ordered the Billet dead pedal off of the 350 to match the other 3 on my 2k2 HLSD max.
They have em under $20.
Got mine on order.
Talked to Steve.

Ice is also working on this mod, it seems as though some modification needs to be done as well on these. Post pics when you install.
Good Luck!!!

Yea I'm sure its not a direct fit but for under $20 it's very low risk for big reward---PERFECT MATCH!

I am also talking to some techs about the feasibilty of using the 350z short throw shifter/linkage. It could be possible.

Already done....

I'm just waiting to clean my carpets before I post pics hopefully Monday, since the digi cam really enhances the dirty look.

It's somewhat difficult to install, but not that hard. It looks really sharp with the rest of the pedals and makes them more noticeable, since it's larger than the rest.

Definitely worth the $14 or whatever from DaveB(800-251-7278).

Will you have some how to's with the pics? If not would you mind e-mailing some of the highlights?

I'd be surprised if you could. But if it works, you will be my hero.

I'll show some of what I did, but it wasn't real easy or clean. It's not my best install. Someone will come up with a better way.

Basically, the 350Z dead pedal has a plastic backing structure that is the dead pedal, where as the Maxima floor board has a metal dead pedal behind the carpet. Therefore, if you somehow mounted the 350Z pedal it would be too high.

I used a hack-saw and reduced the plastic backing plate of the 350Z pedal to about 1" and then screwed it through the carpet into the Maxima metal dead pedal. It may sound confusing, but if you pull back the carpet, you'll know what I'm talking about. It's just a pain to hit the metal without the bit riding down a grove into a void.

Do you know the part number?

Is it the same as the G35?

Will the G35 one work as well? Did you price it?

Just Call Dave B at the number he listed. Mine has been on order. I ordered mine right after Ice (Dave told me), but I didnt even know he had ordered it before that, I thought I would be the trailblazer.

ICE - You have the same Idea I did

So where's the cheapest place to get the set of all 4 pedals (Accel, Brake, Clutch, Dead)? Should I go to Courtesy, Tustin, DaveB, Nissan-Accessories, etc...?

I just order one from www.courtesyparts.com (1-800-527-1909) It was $12.00 even. Tell Kaleb that pmas76 from the .org sent you for the great price.

Yes, read my write-up on my homepage and I explain how to overcome this problem of the different size assembly arm. You just need to put black electrical tape around the bar until the pedal has a tight fit. Very simple.

Do they sell dead pedals for Pathfinders? I ask because the stock dead pedal is a POS. Its skiny as heck, and the carpet isn't even snug around it (I've checked other Pathfinders at the dealer, they are all like that)

DaveB ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS beats Courtesy Nissans' prices(except the sale price on 2K2 headlamps) that's why I stopped ordering from them.

It was $14.58 SHIPPED from Dave, so I guess I don't need to give him a call tomorrow. Then again, I need a few more parts.

That's pretty similar, but the 350Z dead pedal doesn't have the big circles with slits on top and bottom. They are underneath the aluminum, so you can't see them.

That's good though, since I figured they were the same part. IMO, the 350Z pedal looks better, but MAYBE that pedal will mount easier than mine did.

No. I didn't want to tease you guys, but I couldn't keep my mouth shut any longer. I hate it when someone posts about a mod, yet doesn't get pics up at the same time. I was hoping to avoid it, but too late.

Anyways, there isn't much to show, but I will try and take pics this weekend and explain what I did which I admit is probably NOT the best way.

It's pretty self explanatory though of what needs to be done.

Please post if you have received yours from DaveB @TownNorth Nissan or any other dealers. That way we'll know if their off backorder.

Thanks!

I checked with Nissan today, they do not have a release date on the dead pedal yet. As soon as I know something, I'll post it!
