0-60... 12 Seconds

Ok... After putting on my Konig Tantrum 18x8s I noticed something very odd about my car... It took 12 seconds to get to 60 from a stop... I floored it from a stop and the tires didn't even screech.

Earlier that day when I even pressed halfway from a stop it screeched... After 15 minutes of driving the times went to an amazing 0-60 in 9.5 seconds.

I ****ing hate this car... I love the car, and that fact is murdering me very slowly.

Problem after problem after problem after problem. Nissan doesn't know how to fix a ****ing problem, I took it in to get the HORRIBLE wind noise fixed and they made it WORSE... Stupid ****s, could they not drive the car after putting the god damn rubber in?

**** YOU NISSAN. FFFUUUCCCKKK YOOOOUUUUUUU.

I want to ****ing sell this peice of **** but I want the ****ing car. I want to buy a manual but I don't want to get "overzealous" and crash it like a ****ing moron and end up with the same problem. I don't want anything to do with Nissan but I can't afford any other car that I could be "happy" with. I am ****ed.

If I get the frame fixed the car will "never be the same". If I find a way to pull the money to get the transmission fixed out of the depths of hell and into nissans pocket (much worse) will the problems go away? With my luck **** no, and how the **** am I going to get the money in the first place. My work is ****ed, I basically have no ****ing job because I have SEVERE migraines every ****ing day and have been fired because of them 8 times in the last 2 months. I tried to get disability and they ****ing said no. I go to the doctors and they try countless medications to fix it and nothing ****ing works and they don't give a **** about me in the first place, why should they, they just want me out of the office. I try marijuana and it works perfectly, but I CANT AFFORD IT and it will take up to 6 months to have my other doctor get it for me legally.

Thanks Nissan... I appreciate the happiness you've given me. It's a car that keeps on giving and giving... debt.

PS: **** you Nissan.

I agree, I am tired of Nissan too,
they fixed my traverse link recall, but the car still making some knocking sounds when going over bumps, it did before they did the recall too, so it might not be related, but I want to get it fixed of course.

I am seroiusly tired of rattles and stuff too, same things that rattled on my 2000 Maxima, rattle now on my 2002.

Winning sound that comming from the clutch is still there, I told them about it and they told me it is normal. I know a bunch of peps here got their clutches replaced. I will try to tell them again.

Overall I like the car, but I doubt I will get another Nissan again, I am just sick and tired of the same problems that come up again and agian.

Well, the 18x8 Tantrums are a 25 pound wheel after all, and 1 inch bigger than stock. Expect performance to be reduced. Though 9.5 (and 12!) are rediculous.

Hate to be the happy one. . .

But am I the only person that hasn't had any problems out of their max ? ? My 3rd Gen never gave me a problem after almost 140k. I just got my used 2k2 about a month ago, and I'm completely ecstatic, and I don't have any complaints (knock on wood). Just wondering if I can expect a lot of problems. Mine is pretty basic, no sun roof, no bose, no navi, maybe more options increase the likelihood (sp. ?) of failures. Just wondering if i'm in the calm before the storm ?

How many miles is on it and what did you pay for it. My 02 has a few issues, but nothing major but more than my 97 has.

BE READY!!!! More than one 4th Gen (and earlier) have commented on the 'bulletproof' nature of those cars compared to the new ones they got. Paint will definitely be an issue...since it is a month old, pretty much any car will seem pretty tight and dependable (not counting true lemons). Give it time, seems to be a love-hate relationship in 5th Gens...love the power, hate the quirks and troubles....

I have a 2000 SE 5 speed and I've never had a problem either. I've had it for three years and not once did I have to take it in for servicing. Only scheduled maintenances and mods. Knock on wood I guess.
(The only rattle I have is from the Bose sub-woofer when I play heavy bass). Oh and I race my car so in the end, I'm impressed with it.
I have read a lot of problems with the 2002 though. At first I was like, nooo, they have so much more power but now I'm like, hmm...I think I'll stick with my 2000.

You ever read those comics like Magnus: Robot Fighter, where they substitute made-up curse words like "flooj" instead of "f*ck". We should do that here.

Fark you Jeff! And your dog, too!

Ditto here, but maybe it's because Canadians have better built Maximas?

j/k..

I've had my Y2K since July 2000 and no problems aside from the coils and crappy brakes.. put the blower in on July 2nd and nothing has still broken yet (knock on wood).

Ok. This is very weird. Next morning I test the car again and it goes about 7-8. Then I get a good launch and I counted 5-6s (probably 7s, i just suck at counting).... It's the best launch I've ever had in my entire life.

My car is crazy... I guess on that night it "didnt feel like it".

Ok. I calmed down and am waiting for parts from DaveB to come in, once I put those on they're doing the recall and determining if they're going to fix my frame and give me some mhula. Hopefully all goes well.

I bounced off the rev limiter a few times when racing, won't this show up on their computer when I go get the transmission fixed under warranty in a few months?

Maybe you should leave it alone for awhile.

I don't know if this has been answered yet, but what brand and type of gas did you last put in this car? I once bought some gas from a shell station that made my SE-R literally run like it was broken. I had no clue as to what the problem was until I put different gas in it.

Leave it alone? I don't want to drive around with a bent frame. I bought nuts and bolts from DaveB so I could put my stock air box in.

Unless I misunderstood you.

I was using Chevron.

I Feel your pain. My VG does 0-60 in 10 seconds downhill with a tailwind. At least it doesn't rattle or squeak. (142k miles and counting.)

My car is clean. The last of the rims finally arrived, my car looks very nice now

Now to get frame, wind noise, and the head unit fixed.

Transmission is doing fine atm, except when I go in reverse is makes weird noises

PS: Two stock rims in perfect condition on sale. Check the For Sale forums or email an offer to dan@melteye.com

Pictures will be in the other thread.

It's very difficult when:

1) You love modifying things

2) Your a moron and don't know what your doing

3) You can't afford it

4) You do it anyways
