BEST mod for under $100

Just finished installing the Maxspeed springs on my 2003 6 spd and I am very impressed. I know many of you have these(or other springs) already so this is for those who may be trying to decide. Sorry if everyones tired of talking about Maxpseeds.

I have never installed springs before but I can honestly say they were a breeze. Took just over 3 hours with a little help from my brother. You could do them yourself but having someone hold the strut in place is nice. The first thing I noticed was how much shorter the front maxspeeds are than the stockers. Were talking 4-5 inches! As I was lowering the front of the car off the jack it just kept going down, down until it finally came to a rest with a big smile on my face. Now thats much better! The total drop was an even 2 inches. Good thing the rears didnt drop nearly as much, only about 3/4-1". The car sits completely level now and looks amazing. The ride is not harsh at all, in fact I think I like the way it takes the bumps better now. The improved handling though, is the icing on the cake. You feel much more confident and comfortable taking the same corners 10-20 mph faster with complete control, well besides the tires. The main reason I wanted springs at first was to get rid of that crazy wheelgap, but I realize the real gains to be had now. The best $90 Ive ever spent. If there is a better mod for the money let me know.

Seriously, where did you get these??

E-Bay ain't my bag, baby.

I can't believe you only paid $100 for a set of 4????????????

The H& R Kits are at least $250....please let me know.
DId the springs get rid of the god-awful pogo-effect when you hit undulating pavement at speed....I HATE THAT!!

Just installed my Courtesy FSTB last nite -- not a HUGE improvement, but definitely noticeable and improved. Handles like my '98SE now!

Once I get the RSB in, I think things will be on the mend.
Springs should be the REAL money fix!

Thanks for your help.

ebay is so easy. you can save yourself some serious $$$$, unless you like paying co.'s more for the same product. you can get the maxspeeds for a 100 on ebay. no kiddin'.

just sign up for an account and then sign up with paypal. use paypal to pay and it is secure and you keep track of the purchases and with a credit card you can always dispute a charge.

so far i have had good luck with ebay, but i know some bad things can happen though.

E-bay weenie

...I knew I'd get flamed for that post!!!

Seriously though - thanks for the confidence vote.

I pride myself in being an e-commerce junkie just to spite the older generation who can't get with it.....it's time I GOT with IT and got on e-bay.

I can't afford to keep giving my precious mod-money away -- my wife is gonna kill me if this mod-bug keeps-up!!!!

My car (and me) are loving it, however!!!!!!

i hear ya on the wife thing, but the other day she looked at the car and said: " we do need some different rims" i almost s**t myself right there in the parking lot.

p.s. only but from people with good reviews. you can read all the reviews on the sellers from the buyers.

good luck with the mod bug, watch out he's on your shoulder dude!!!

Check out the Group Deal section here, if you can't be part of a group deal then just email the guy (borgioli74 or something like that) and he will sell them to you directly. I think they are $95 regularly or $85 on group deal. Either way, definately a good deal.

A RSB is a better bang for the buck, but it's about $130.
