Best way to touch up a scrath
Best way to touch up a scrath
Hi,
I have a 2002 maxima sterling silver and the other day a noticed a deep nic or scatch on the passenger door, the plastic strip that is in the middle of the door (I really don't know the name of it)It is supposed to protect your door if another door from a car open and hits your door, and this is want happened to me, it sticks..
What is the best way to take care of this, autobody? I hate to touch it up with touch-up because then it looks bad..
Thanks,
Domenic

I just bought a dual-sided clear-coat paint pen from Courtesy Nissan, but have yet to apply it the scratch on my back bumper that appeared mysteriously a month ago.
I'll have to let you know how it works, but I'm hoping that it's better than the usual touch-up paint-brush/bottle combo.
Other than this, you're looking at getting it professionally fixed -- the plastic molding is ALL painted on the car.
Good Luck.

I have not used the Langka. I have used the paint pen. It works pretty good. I found that the clear coat tends to puddle, so be very careful with it. I wipe the tip on a paper towel before I apply it to the car. Some people have suggested using touch-up paint and a swab or tooth pick. I've not tried this yet. Good luck.
