I remember one time I was cutting grass for a church and a guy parked his viper in an area were no one else should have been parking. This old lady parked right next to his car and put her purse and umbrella on his hood as she was getting out of her car. I was amazed how inconsiderate she was. I told the guy who owned the viper, I am not sure if he said anything for her.

Cynical as though it may be, I'm convinced that a large amount of people don't care, unless confronted with negative reinforcement. That said, I don't think I'd take brake fluid to their car, although I'm not above putting a note on their car telling them my insurance company will be contacting them. That will usually shake them up.

How does the deductable work on comp. claims? And does a new door lower the value of the car like any repaint?
Comp claims are for anything that is not a collision. A collision is defined as your vehicle being struck by another while under power or parked, or your vehicle striking another vehicle or stationary object while moving in any direction. Anything else that can damage your vehicle is a comp loss. Progressive is one of the insurance companies that do not use OEM parts and have a repair rather than replace policy. Did they repair the damage? If not, there is absolutely no reason why they should not have covered it. The deductible works this way... If the amount of damage appraised on your vehicle is $1500 and your deductible is $200, you get a check from your insurance company for $1300. And in answer to your last question...as long as the door is replaced with an OEM part, it will not lower the value of your vehicle. I hope this answered your question.
