Is a CAI any good without exhaust?

Is a CAI going to give me any hp without the flow of a good exhast? Where does all the extra air go, in a muffeler that cant get it out fast enough?

The stock box is pretty restrictive, so no matter what kind of intake you put on you're going to get an increase in power just because more air is going into the engine faster.

Yeah, there is more than enough room for exhaust. You can look forward to slightly higher gains when you do get that exhaust..(maybe even a whole horse!)

BTW- back pressure is good...gives you torque in a nutshell.

I dunno dude, every part that I added to my exhaust helped more and more....also made my car sounds more like a truck at the same time though...

Mine is loud all the time. If you dont want TOO loud, either dont get a Y-pipe or keep your OEM muffler. Intakes are quite different in noise also. I had the frankencar and that was LOUD, but the Injen is considerably quieter, not that I can hear it anyway.

Sorry, that came out wrong.

I didn't mean you only get 1hp from exhaust, I just meant that if you put the two together you might get an EXTRA horse...like the custom exhaust gives driver X 7hp, but you get 8hp cause you already had an intake...
not a big deal...but I had to clarify!
