I've noticed looking at the '01 and '02 max's, it doesn't appear that they come with the chrome encasing around the exhaust pipes.

I specifically made sure my 2000 max had that when I bought it. It makes the car look a lot better by making dull looking pollution guns less obvious.

I'd like to know if that is the case. Maybe further cost-cutting from Nissan? Thanks.

 

SE's and GLE's have them....

 

02's don't have em - just the 00's and 01's (SE & GLE)

2000 -- SE and GLE had oval chrome exhaust finisher
2001 -- SE and GLE had oval chrome exhaust finisher
2001 -- Anniversary Edition had two downward facing exhaust tips
2002 -- Two chrome exhaust tips

 

the SE's and GLE's from 00-01 had them, the GXE just had the pipes sticking out. and the 02 models don't have any chrome finishers or tip covers. that was probably from the old ad they used on the 01's and they forgot to delte that option .
